Victo is a shadow warrior, a servant of Menzies I don't think he's immortal (the guy is dead and farmed into the dust, after all!)

Except for the fact that Victo's weapons are all shadow or dark-color weapons, that might have made more sense =/
Unless all the weapons were corrupted..

I wonder if Menzies is pronounced 'Men-zees', or 'Ming-is' as per the 'traditional' Scottish pronunciation?
Trivial I know, just curious! I think 'Ming-is' sounds more evil, but then again I'm probably just associating it with Ming The Merciless

It can't, simply can't be Lord Victo. A few reasons here:
1. He was NOT a god, he was a Lord of Orr, a long dead society, when the Charr invaded Orr, they destroyed it. *SPOILERS* AND Vizier Khilborn used the Forbidden Magic to try and save Orr, which, in turn, destroyed it.
2. Lord Victo is DEAD, that is why his Weapons are dropped by The Darknesses in TOPK insinuates that he died battling The Darknesses and they took his weapons.

If anyone here has ever done all of the FoW, or at least read up on it. They would know that Menzies failed to take the Fissure due to the efforts of the ascended heroes (us) thwarting the Shadow Army at every turn during their attmpts to take the Fissure of Woe from Balthazar's control.
Idk what this has to do with it, but Menzies is in the Fissure isn't he, trying in vain to steal it from Balthazar and his Ascended Heroes. I really dont think the god will have anything to do with Nightfall at all.

Or maybe some sort of Dhuum/menzies combo. Like Dhuums shattered soul (soul magic is popular these days) has like attached itself to menzies.

Victo is a elonian king I believe..
Could someone tell me who Menzies is and where to get the four horsemen quest? It looks quite intresting, I want to get more into this thread.

Or perhaps Victo, just like Illian and Elswyth are all generals of the Shadow Army. That's why they are the ones looming over the Hall of Hero's...

Menzies is the half-brother of Balthazar, and has named himself Lord of Destruction in an attempt to usurp Balthazar.
The Four Horsemen can be taken from the Reaper of the Chaos Planes, in the deep underworld.

My Guess is its Menzies, I think Menzies have aquired some of Dhuums power (the remnant energies (storms of chaos, etc), and has been roaming the underworld & mists for more power & minions.
Thus some of the servants that once followed Dhuum, now follows Menzies -since Menzies has some of the remnant energies of Dhuum.

Menzies might be the main badguy, but if so I bet the story arcs around reassembling Dhuum.

i get menzies but where r u getting duhmm? ive never heard of him. also i wonder if any of the guild wars creators are homestar runner fans since rodgort is trogdor spelled backwards. also, maybe menzies is the assassin god. so far the assassin has been thrown under lyssa but maybe they do have their own.

From what I remember from other posts around Guru
Menzies is to Balthazar as Dhuum is to Grenth
In other words, Menzies tried to take over the Fissure of Woe, and Dhuum, iirc, had some grudge against Grenth, and so tried to take over the Underworld or something. However, Grenth defeated him, possibly with the Ascended heroes' help.
So the reason these two are the most speculated is that they are already explained in the game, and both fit the role of a "banished" or "outcast" god.
EDIT: The forum didn't like my analogy shorthand so I did away with it.
EDIT 2: Fixed some mistaken wording.

Close, but not quite. Menzies is to Balthazar as Grenth is to Dhuum. The story goes that Dhuum was the origianal god of Death. Grenth overthrew him.

this does tie in the..the original tombs was HoH, in HoH you earn Balthazar's Faction, so HoH=Balthazar and Menzies got beat back at FoW so he bid his time.. when he saw that the ascended heros who beat him were prepping to enter cantha, and thus leaving the Tombs Menzies knew he could strike back at Balthazar by taking Tombs, this takeover thusallowed Menzies to build up his strength enough to attack Cantha..for unknown reason, but nonetheless he attacked.. and now in Nightfall..he has finally built up enough of an army to strike at Elona a weakened nation due to the loss of its heroes in the crystal desert. And if Menzies takes Elona then he has an entire LAND under his control.. this...would not be good for us.. just my specualtion..
